{"id":1208,"date":"2012-04-14T23:44:18","date_gmt":"2012-04-14T22:44:18","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/six40winks.com\/?p=1208"},"modified":"2012-04-14T23:44:18","modified_gmt":"2012-04-14T22:44:18","slug":"days-363738-good-progress","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/?p=1208","title":{"rendered":"days 36\/37\/38 &#8211; Good progress"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>day 36, April 12:<\/h2>\n<p>Perseverance seems to be paying off. \u00a0There are small difficulties (but not that different from the monophasic ones: snoozing, tiredness at work, etc). \u00a0Generally I can feel my energy levels improving day after day.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Smart Wake woke me in a small waking 1mn spike. It was quite easy to get out of bed.<\/li>\n<li>I&#8217;m aware and awake with constant energy levels and great concentration capabilities<\/li>\n<li>I did snooze on the 15h nap &#8230; \u00a0(trying to stay a little longer got me confused and made me snooze twice)<\/li>\n<li>extremely tired after 22h. Possible combination of failed naps, exercise and rush of exciting work for 12h &#8211; 14h of the day.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you can see below the\u00a0<strong>7am nap <\/strong>was not very restful (mostly light sleep). \u00a0The morning nap is usually all REM so I could really tell the difference as I woke up. \u00a0I think it was a combination of things. \u00a0 One rule I broke is <!--more-->going to bed straight after working (and my mind was racing with excitement about work). \u00a0I recommend taking a 5 minutes mental break before going to bed (I usually do some little chore) so you can break your train of thought, forget what you&#8217;re doing and focus on sleeping. \u00a0But today I didn&#8217;t follow my own advice. \u00a0In addition to that I was a little late for bed so my partner&#8217;s alarm went off 3 times in that time. \u00a0We have synchronized my naps with her monophasic sleep so we wake up at the same time. \u00a0but today I was a little delayed with work.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/20120412_core_hypnogram-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1223\" title=\"hypnogram showing rem, deep, light sleep in a 3 nap everyman polyphasic sleeping schechudle\" src=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/20120412_core_hypnogram-1.png\" alt=\"hypnogram showing rem, deep, light sleep in a 3 nap everyman polyphasic sleeping schechudle\" width=\"764\" height=\"137\" srcset=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/20120412_core_hypnogram-1.png 764w, https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/04\/20120412_core_hypnogram-1-300x54.png 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 764px) 100vw, 764px\" \/><\/a>(2012\/04\/012, (3:10,5),(3:15,6),(3:20,7,&#8221;working already&#8221;), (4:56,6,&#8221;a little heavy feeling and tired eyes.&#8221;),(5:10,7, &#8220;manual activity: tidy+dishwasher brings wakefullness back&#8221;),(6:10,7.5),(13:50,7.5),(14:15,5),(15:22,6),(15:30,7),(21:10,7),(21:15,6),(22:00,5))<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2>day 37, April 13:<\/h2>\n<p>Today it was a little harder to wake up in the middle of the night in spite of the &#8220;smart wake&#8221;. \u00a0I just wanted to stay in bed as I was a little tired from the previous day. \u00a0I also think I was just feeling lazy. \u00a0One of those days!<\/p>\n<p>I tried to experiment with the <strong>7am<\/strong> nap to see if giving myself<strong> 40mn<\/strong>\u00a0would result in more REM.
