{"id":440,"date":"2012-03-17T20:55:26","date_gmt":"2012-03-17T20:55:26","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/six40winks.com\/?p=440"},"modified":"2012-03-17T20:55:26","modified_gmt":"2012-03-17T20:55:26","slug":"day-10-catching-up","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/?p=440","title":{"rendered":"Day 10 &#8211; catching up"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>It&#8217;s the weekend!\u00a0 So time to wake up at <strong>2am<\/strong> and get to work! \ud83d\ude42 Yes, nobody said it would be easy.\u00a0 Fortunately I got to see this beautiful dawn from my window:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/38779196\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"594\" height=\"336\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>However <a title=\"Day 9 \u2013 Oversleeping\" href=\"http:\/\/six40winks.com\/2012\/03\/16\/day-9-oversleeping\/\">yesterday<\/a> I overslept &#8230; which made me miss the last two naps.\u00a0 What does that mean? <!--more-->It means &#8230; back to square one.\u00a0 My body tried to come back to monophasic the previous day.\u00a0 So I have to train it again.\u00a0 The hardest part is the <strong>4am &#8211; 7am<\/strong>.\u00a0 I get sleepy every half an hour, drowsy &#8230; not finding it easy to focus.\u00a0 Usually I then do dishes, laundry, get some eye drops, eat (fruit+cereal) or tidy the house.\u00a0 This is what I need to get back on track and make the most of my successive naps.\u00a0 (if you just arrived to the blog,\u00a0 I&#8217;m currently following the <strong>Everyman-3<\/strong> sleeping schedule):<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_489\" style=\"width: 310px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/everyman3-1.png\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-489\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-489  \" title=\"everyman 3 nap sleeping schedule\" src=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/everyman3-1-300x300.png\" alt=\"polyphasic everyman-3 sleeping schedule\" width=\"300\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/everyman3-1-300x300.png 300w, https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/everyman3-1-150x150.png 150w, https:\/\/six40winks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/03\/everyman3-1.png 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-489\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">polyphasic everyman-3330 sleeping schedule<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>That means, I sleep <strong>3 hours<\/strong> at night, and then take <strong>3<\/strong> naps (each of <strong>30mn<\/strong>).\u00a0 Maybe I should call it the Everyman-3330.\u00a0 So many threes call for a more descriptive name! Some people actually do Everyman-3325 (<strong>3h<\/strong> night + <strong>three<\/strong> <strong>25mn<\/strong> naps) or even Everyman-4230 (<strong>4h<\/strong> night, <strong>two<\/strong> naps of <strong>30mn<\/strong>).\u00a0 Whatever the case, E3330 is my current schedule as shown in the chart.\u00a0 After overcoming the early morning period it all went back to normal.\u00a0 I slept <strong>27mn<\/strong> of REM at <strong>7am<\/strong>.\u00a0 Then came breakfast, light sport at the swimming pool (40mn swim), and a nice <em>lazy<\/em> Saturday with movies and snacks included.\u00a0 I thought I would fall into the naps straight away.\u00a0 But <strong>12:00<\/strong> only gave me <strong>19mn<\/strong> of sleep (<strong>3mn<\/strong> REM).\u00a0 The <strong>17:00<\/strong> nap was similar with <strong>16mn<\/strong> total (because I was awake for 10mn before meeting <a title=\"morpheus myth\" href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Morpheus_%28mythology%29\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">morpheus<\/a>).
